HOW TO MAKE 7 LAYER BARS EAGLE BRAND
STEP 1: PREHEAT THE OVEN
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Using nonstick cooking spray, coat a 13X9-inch baking pan.
STEP 2: MAKE THE CRUST
Mix the graham cracker crumbs and butter together thoroughly. Firmly press the crumb mixture into the prepared pan’s bottom. Pour the sweetened milk over the crumb mixture in an even layer. Continue to layer the remaining ingredients evenly (in the order listed) and firmly press down with a fork.
STEP 3: BAKE
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are lightly browned. Loosen from the pan’s sides while still warm and cool on a wire rack. Cut the dough into bars.
Tip: To make perfectly cut cookie bars, line the entire pan with foil and extend the foil over the pan’s edge. Lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray. After the bars have baked and cooled, lift them out of the pan by the foil edges. At that point, cut into individual bars.
SEVEN LAYER BAR FAQS
CAN YOU FREEZE SEVEN LAYER MAGIC BARS?
Yes, these treats can be frozen. Simply wrap them in saran wrap and place them in a freezer-safe bag!
CAN THIS 7 LAYER COOKIE BE MADE WITHOUT NUTS?
Sure! Simply remove the nuts if you don’t want them, or switch to a different type of nut. Because of their softness, walnuts are ideal for this recipe.
CAN YOU MAKE 7 LAYER BARS WITHOUT COCONUT?
If you do not want to use shredded coconut, leave it out. Why miss out on the other flavors of this recipe when you can easily leave out that one ingredient? If you need to remove a layer, simply rename it six-layer bars.
In place of the coconut, you can easily substitute crushed peanuts, white chocolate chips, or even peanut butter chips. You can also sprinkle some caramel on top.
